Advice
When you leave your property empty for a night or longer, consider the following:
- Cancel milk/newspaper/organic box delivery scheme. Mounting newspapers, etc are a sure give away sign that the property is empty.
- Use timers on some lights around the house. Make sure that the lights don't give away that the property is empty.
- Don't close the curtains as closed curtains during the day are a sure give away to burglars.
- Make sure that windows and doors are closed and locked.
- If your neighbour is away then collect their mail for them and consider parking your car in their drive (just make sure you have permission).
