Why not specify a fitting that only takes a normal lightbulb i.e. 60watt bulb. Make sure that the security light also has a daylight sensor set only for when it's genuinely dark and a movement sensor. This will make a difference to your electricity bills, reduce night-time light pollution, not annoy your neighbours AND BE JUST AS EFFECTIVE AT KEEPING THE BURGLARS AWAY!

Why not use an energy-efficient bulb. It might not be as bright, but will last longer and further reduce electricity bills.
