Clothes Washing & Drying

Advice

Consider the following:

  1. Try to make sure that the washing machine is fully loaded before use as this will limit the resources needed to clean your clothes. However be careful not to exceed the weight restrictions for your machine as this will cause premature damage.
  2. Only use the required temperature to clean your clothes e.g. 40°C for coloureds and 60°C for whites. It might worth trying lower temperatures and seeing if the wash performance is just as good.
  3. If you have to wash only a few clothes then use the ‘economy’ or ‘half-load’ mode. This will use less water, energy and detergent.
  4. Whether you are going to tumble-dry or naturally-dry your clothes, it is worth giving them a ‘spin’ first as this will reduce the time needed to dry the clothes and save some energy if you are wanting to tumble dry them.
