Advice

A significant amount of energy can be lost because a radiator is directly heating an external wall. Most of this energy loss can be reduced by using reflector foil especially designed for the task.

Specially designed material, which can be bought in many DIY stores has a thin layer of insulation (EPS) covered with aluminium foil. The insulation reduces the amount of heat getting to the external wall and the foil reflects heat back into the room.

The cost for the reflecting foil is relatively low, but so is the financial and environmental savings. It is worth considering if you are doing a number of jobs around the house.
