Detergents are essential for cleaning surfaces in the kitchen, dishes, bath, floors, etc. Unfortunately the chemicals that make up most detergents are harmful to our waterways and the wildlife that reside in the environment.

However it is possible to purchase detergents which are made from plants. There is still some cleaning chemicals within the plant-based detergents, but the vast majority of the plant-based detergent safely biodegrades back into the environment causing FAR less damage to the environment compared to its petroleum-based competitor.

Check to see if the plant-based detergent has been produced under ISO14001 conditions meaning that the environmental impact during production has been calculated and then projects have been implemented to reduce environmental damage.
