Ethical Accreditation Organisations
Ethical Companies Organisation
Ethical accreditation helps to establish how seriously a company takes its social responsibilities. This can judge an organisation on a range of issues from animal testing to donating to political parties.
Good Shopping Guide & Gooshing
The Ethical Companies Organisation runs two schemes:
Good Shopping Guide – This is a book published each year by the Ethical Companies Organisation which looks at a range of products and has three bandings for the different companies producing such a product. The three bands are the top scoring 33%, the middle 33% and the worst-coring 33%. This allows the consumer to decide if they want their products to be by responsible companies.
Gooshing – The Ethical Companies Organisation has created a website at www.gooshing.co.uk which allows the user to search 250,000 individual products. The Gooshing rating is out of five stars (in half stars) and judges on the same criteria as applied to that used for the Good Shopping Guide.
