The EU energy-efficiency labelling scheme was designed to assess appliances on a scale from A to G in order to help consumers choose the most efficient models out there. However the technology that goes into fridges and freezers has gone beyond expectations and it is possible to get A* and A** rating refrigeration units.

There are refrigeration units manufacturers which have been rated by the Gooshing rating, an ethical rating, which rates from 1 to 5 stars (in half-units).

Why not ask the refrigeration unit manufacturer whether or not their units are manufactured under the ISO14001 status.
