Printers & Ink Cartridges
USEFUL LINKS
Well the first thing to consider is purchase a printer which is sustainable and can actually have it’s ink cartridges refilled. There is one major manufacturer which doesn’t seem to be able to have it’s ink cartridges filled and therefore it is worth checking this out first.
So what is the cheapest printer? Well this isn’t as easy to anser as it sounds due to other factors that should be considered. One of the biggest factors is the cost of running the printer over it lifetime including the initial cost to purchase the printer. There are reports which can be found using an internet search engine. These reports look at how long a cartridge lasts and their cost. Not all printers are the same (by a long shot) and the cheapest printers to buy may end up costing you a fortune in the long run.
Is a printer the only thing you are looking for, or are you looking for a scanner, copier and fax machine as well? Multifunctionals combine all these elements into one machine can can perform as well as the latest separate machines. Buying them in one package may save money, space and wires (bring on the wireless office!).
At least one major manufacturer makes all its products under the ISO14001status, which works to measure and reduce the environmental impact during construction.
