Got a computer and an internet connection?
Then why not think about donating your computers unused processing power to help solve some of humanity's greatest problems (see 'Library' on the right for further details on these problems and the projects being currently undertaken to solve them).
Climate Prediction and Folding@Home (contact details can be found in the 'Links' on the right) both use a program that is downloaded and installed on your computer. You can then choose how the program will work on your computer. As long as the correct options are chosen, then the program should not interfere with other tasks you are performing on the computer. However, if you do have any troubles then both Climate Prediction and Folding@Home have support on their websites.
Both projects are equally worthy of your computer's processing power (in our opinion) and it is entirely up to yourself which you decide to run.
Other Sustainable Considerations:
As more electricity will be consumed by the processor and cooling fans, it might be worth purchasing 'green energy' to reduce the environmental impact.
